Examples of My Work

Design

Below are a few examples of my recent design work. Each site falls into the 'basic website' category and was put online for around $500. They were designed using a combination of previously printed materials and on-site photographs which capture the feeling of the business.

My websites are designed using standards compliant markup which ensures they will look good on all browsers. The markup contains key elements recognized by search engines so they will appear in the top of web searches. The image elements have been optimized for the internet and therefore load quickly.

Dynamic Components

Web sites that move attract more attention and retain the viewer's interest longer than those that stand still. I use javascript libraries to create these features instead of the popular Flash plugin. I do this because flash is not installed on browsers by default, so if the visitor does not have it installed, they do not see your website. It is also slow and expensive to produce.

Slide Show

A slide show is a convenient way to display several images in a single location. In addition to saving space an tightening up the layout of a page, a slideshow catches the eye and adds a level of sophistication to an otherwise static web page.

Slide shows can be made from images, text, or any combination of the two.

Fade Links

Yeah, it's simple, but also visually pleasing. Instead of immediately changing color when the mouse passes over, fade links gracefully fade between the colors. Little touches can make a big difference.
